The Staff Accountant serves as a key liaison between Accounting and Operations, partnering closely with production leadership to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role requires a hands-on, self-starting professional who is comfortable being present on the production floor, asking questions, and proactively seeking understanding of how operations impact the financials. The ideal candidate is collaborative, curious, and accountable for translating day-to-day activity into clean, compliant accounting results.
PositionSummary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting department by performing day-to-day accounting tasks. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling bank statements, assisting in month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Staff Accountant works closely with other accounting staff and departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and contributes to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the organization’s financial operations.
CoreResponsibilities General Ledger Maintenance
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist in closing procedures by preparing schedules and reports.
- Ensure all financial data is accurate and complete for reporting period
- Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Corporate Approval Administration
- CIP Analysis / Investment Cash Flow Reporting
- Maintain fixed asset schedules.
- Record depreciation and asset disposals.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Support internal and external audits; ensure audit readiness.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.
- Help ensure procedures are followed to prevent fraud and errors.
- Work with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Provide support and clarification on financial data as needed.
- Accuracy of Journal Entries and account reconciliations
- Timeliness and accuracy of Month End closing / financial reporting
- Timeliness and accuracy Fixed asset reporting
- Audit readiness and compliance score
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 1+ years of professional finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to be present on the production floor as needed.
- Strong GAAP knowledge; familiarity with IFRS.
- Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with ability to influence cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with ERP and manufacturing information systems.
- Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

- Able to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
