Position SummaryThe Bookkeeping & Payroll Clerk provides essential financial, payroll, and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. This part-time role supports core bookkeeping functions, payroll processing assistance, benefits and deductions administration, and general office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with routine bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and documentation support
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal controls and policies
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as assigned
- Organize and maintain financial files and supporting documentation for audits and reporting
- Assist with tracking employee benefits, insurance enrollments, and payroll deductions
- Maintain accurate records related to benefits elections and changes
- Support coordination with benefit providers and internal stakeholders
- Ensure proper documentation and timely updates related to employee benefits
- Assist with payroll preparation and data verification
- Support tracking of hours, time adjustments, and payroll-related documentation
- Help ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with applicable policies and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information
- Assist with employee onboarding paperwork and documentation tracking
- Support administrative processes related to new hires and employee changes
- Maintain organized personnel and administrative files
- Provide general clerical support as needed
- Perform occasional off-site errands such as bank deposits, mail handling, or document delivery
- Assist with office organization and supply coordination
- Provide operational support to administrative and finance teams as needed
- Office-based position
- Regular interaction with administrative, finance, and leadership team members
- Confidential healthcare and employee information handled daily
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration preferred
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, payroll support, or administrative roles preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with basic office software (Excel, Word, email systems); accounting or payroll software experience a plus
- Reliable transportation for occasional off-site errands
- Accuracy and attention to detail
