Join Our Dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton
Our 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:56 and PCTs from 1:69, allowing for meaningful, team-based patient care.
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. He/she functions within the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Team members may float to assist with needs across the hospital, supporting clinical growth and collaboration.

Qualifications Education- Graduate from a nursing program Required
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- No experience required;
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required - Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
- Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification - within 180 Days Required
- Critical Care: ACLS Certification - within 180 Days Required
- Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred
- Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certification - 6 months to obtain PALS; BLS within 180 Days Required
- Infusion/Oncology:
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration Upon Hire Required - Pediatrics: PALS Certification - required at Piedmont locations; additional requirements within 180 Days Required
- Surgical Services:
Pre Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if pediatric care; BLS required within 180 Days Required - Womens Services:
Labor and Delivery-ACLS within 6 months; NRP by orientation end; NICU/NUR/PEARS/PALS targets as specified within 180 Days Required
