Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Walton County Health Department, Northeast Health District. Under general supervision, the RN will provide professional nursing care and public health services in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and agency procedures.
The role includes care in programs such as immunization, Women’s Health, Family Planning, Diabetes, Hypertension, STD, TB, WIC, and other community health services. The RN will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, administer treatments, educate patients, and coordinate referrals. Outreach and preventive health services to the community, including health screenings and immunizations, are also core duties.
Travel to other health departments or clinics within District 10 may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care in accordance with established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver clinical services across multiple public health programs (immunizations, WIC, family planning, women's health, diabetes, hypertension, STD, TB).
- Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, administer treatments, and provide patient education.
- Perform health screenings, immunizations, and other preventive services.
- Coordinate referrals to community resources and specialty care as appropriate.
- Accurately document patient encounters and maintain electronic health records.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and technology to support quality care and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in community outreach and health education initiatives.
- Support public health emergency preparedness and response as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
- Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse (RPN) license.
- CPR certification.
