DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring 3 years of experience and a GA or Compact RN license.
Details- LDRP unit caring for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation, plus postpartum and newborn care
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Weekend rotation of every third weekend unless otherwise specified
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Epic charting system used
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills needed include labor and delivery management, postpartum care, newborn care and assessment, IV therapy, and lactation support
- Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred for consideration
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Perform newborn assessments, circumcision site care, car seat education, and discharge teaching to parents
- Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean section recovery, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support following baby-friendly protocols
- Maintain IV therapy and infusion pump management
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
- Full compliance required prior to start date
- Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
