About This Job
The mission of this agency is to provide flood protection through the operation and maintenance of a large flood-control system consisting of levees, pumping stations, floodgates, flood walls, and drainage structures. The Administrative Program Specialist is responsible for supporting and coordinating programs, operations, and administrative processes within the Tensas Basin Levee District. This role serves as a central point of our agency, helping ensure that projects and workflows run efficiently and align with our agency's goals.

Four years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR An advanced degree. Experience substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job duties:
- Purchasing & Asset Management:
Maintains agencies' purchase orders, quotes, vendor documentation, and asset records from acquisition through disposal, donation, or destruction. Reviews purchasing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency and state purchasing procedures. Maintains the agency's Asset Management Program, including tagging and internal audits. - Evaluation of other employees' projects and workloads. Assisting the Executive Director and the Administrative Director with special projects and tasks as needed. Other tasks as assigned by the agency director.
- Processing incoming payments and accounting functions for the land leases belonging to the agency. Responsible for maintaining the agency check log for audits, making deposits, entering bills, and assisting with audit preparation.
- Manages land lease documentation, publication updates, and related paperwork for hunting and farming leases. Manages camp site updates, insurance verification, paperwork, and related administrative records.
- May serve as a backup employee for payroll processing and leave management. May serve as a backup to record meeting minutes in the Board Secretary's absence. May provide administrative support to all three divisions within the agency.
