The Resource Coordinator is responsible for securing food donations, managing donor relationships, and supporting purchasing and inventory activities to ensure a consistent supply of food resources. This role works closely with community partners, retail donors, agencies, and internal teams to expand food acquisition efforts and support the organization's mission.
Education RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Experience Requirements2-5 years of experience in sales, food service, customer service, donor relations, or a related field. Experience building and maintaining business relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and database systems. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Job DutiesDevelop and maintain relationships with food donors, manufacturers, growers, distributors, and retail partners. Identify and secure new food donation opportunities throughout the service region. Coordinate food purchasing activities and ensure accurate tracking of purchased inventory. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with operations teams to meet product needs. Manage food acquisition through Feeding America's CHOICE system. Oversee Retail Rescue Program operations and monitor agency participation.
Train agencies and retail partners on food donation and food safety requirements. Track donor activity, food donations, and program metrics. Create donor recognition and appreciation initiatives. Research and implement strategies to increase food donations. Prepare reports on donor engagement and food sourcing performance. Collaborate with internal teams on product distribution and inventory management.
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to travel locally to visit donors, stores, and community partners. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout office, warehouse, and donor locations. Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
