Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to support a global technology client on large-scale data center construction projects. This role will serve as a key day-to-day client interface, ensuring financial objectives are achieved through proactive cost control, forecasting, cash flow management, pay applications, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

The position requires onsite presence Monday through Friday in Rayville, LA. While local candidates or those open to relocation are preferred, an a diem is available for candidates who are unable to relocate.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable operating in a client-facing environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with project stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and successful delivery of complex mission-critical construction programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Estimate and evaluate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and cost control systems.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets and client objectives.
  • Track project commitments, expenditures, accruals, and forecasts, providing accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and financial updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Review and participate with design teams and contractors in the development and validation of project cost estimates.
  • Reconcile cost changes and ensure contractor cost data remains accurate and properly documented.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and client representatives to gather information required for cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing, change requests, and commercial submissions.
  • Provide commercial and cost management input during design development, value engineering, and procurement activities.
  • Manage cost impact assessments, contingency tracking, commitment logs, and change management processes.
  • Maintain project change logs and ensure cost implications of changes are understood, documented, and communicated.
  • Prepare, review, and track pay applications and support invoice validation processes.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to manage cash flow forecasting and monitor actual performance against projections.
  • Assist with procurement activities, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
  • Monitor project performance, identify cost risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage cost checks, valuations, and financial validation processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Compile and maintain benchmarking data, cost histories, and project financial records.
  • Represent Turner & Townsend in client meetings, providing expertise and recommendations on cost control and financial performance.
