REGIONAL COORDINATOR

This position is housed at Swanson Center for Youth, located in Monroe, LA. This position may require travel to the Special School District main office in Baton Rouge, LA.

Physical Activity Level: The employee must be able to perform assigned duties without significant risk of substantial harm to his/herself or others. Some work is performed in physically comfortable positions with little or light physical effort, and some work requires moderate effort. Lifting thirty to forty pounds may be required and brief periods of heavy muscular exertion may be required. Physical requirements are subject to reasonable accommodation in accordance with ADA standards.

Qualifications
  • Deep belief that all students, regardless of their backgrounds and educational experiences, have the potential to succeed in college and beyond and that it is the responsibility of the schools/programs to help students realize their potential.
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Educational Leadership Certification
  • Minimum of three (3) or more years as a school leader
  • Experience in education including experience in such areas as curriculum development, special education, and supervision
Responsibilities

The Regional Coordinator promotes the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe and orderly learning environment.

  • Ensure/assist the ongoing development and refinement of appropriate curriculum.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel constructively.
  • Use knowledge of teaching and learning in working collaboratively with the faculty and staff to implement effective and innovative teaching practices that engage students in meaningful and challenging learning experiences.
  • Provide professional learning activities consistent with staff needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the school faculty and staff to plan and implement professional development activities that promote both individual and organizational growth and lead to improved teaching and learning.
  • Engage the school community in developing and maintaining a student-centered vision for education that forms the basis for school goals and guides the preparation of students as effective learners in a pluralistic society.
  • Work with the school community to review data from multiple sources to establish challenging standards, monitor progress and foster the continuous growth of all students.
