Position: INTERNAL ONLY - Business Office Administration Instructor

Role Overview

Business Office Administration Instructor – Faculty Full‑Time – Monroe, LA – Louisiana Delta Community College – Academic Affairs – Sub‑department:
Business, IT & Professional Studies. Unclassified – 9‑month appointment – Salary $50,561.

Duties & Responsibilities Instruction & Student Learning
  • Deliver engaging, student‑centered instruction using effective and inclusive teaching strategies in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online formats
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with approved curriculum and student learning outcomes
  • Integrate current business practices, technology tools, and workforce expectations into instruction
  • Assess and document student learning outcomes and use data to improve instruction
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment that supports student success
Curriculum & Program Development
  • Participate in the development, review, and revision of curriculum to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards
  • Assist in scheduling courses to support timely program completion for students
  • Support program assessment, accreditation, and compliance with institutional and system requirements
  • Maintain active engagement with the program's advisory committee, including coordinating at least two meetings annually
Student Support & Engagement
  • Provide academic advising and career guidance to students within the program
  • Identify and refer students to appropriate academic support services as needed
  • Participate in recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives
  • Promote student engagement through participation in student organizations, events, and program activities
Professional Development
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in teaching practices, business trends, and instructional technology
  • Participate in relevant professional organizations, conferences, and training opportunities
  • Contribute to institutional initiatives such as leadership development programs, accreditation efforts, or system‑level activities
College & Community Service
  • Serve on college committees and contribute to shared governance
  • Support institutional initiatives, including program development and strategic planning
  • Participate in community outreach, workforce partnerships, and recruitment events
  • Represent the college in professional and community organizations as appropriate
  • Practice and promote LDCC institutional and cultural standards of practice
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Dean to support the mission of the college
Required Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 15 semester credit hours in business or a closely related field
  • Associate degree in a business‑related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level
  • Experience with online or hybrid instruction
  • Industry experience in office administration, business operations, or related areas
  • Experience using instructional technology and learning management systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage diverse student populations and support student success
  • Proficiency in business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, office management systems)
  • Organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners
