Sunday School Teacher And Church Van Driver
Prevailing Faith Bible Church is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging individual to serve as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Van Driver. This role plays a vital part in the spiritual and physical care of our young church members by providing Bible-based instruction and ensuring safe transportation to and from church.
Key Responsibilities:
Sunday School Instruction (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM):
- Teach Bible lessons to children ages 2–12 using age-appropriate curriculum
- Lead children in prayer, songs, memory verses, and interactive learning activities
- Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Communicate with parents and guardians as needed
- Assist with light cleanup and setup of the classroom before and after lessons
Transportation Duties (9:30 AM – 10:00 AM; 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):
- Operate a church-provided 16-passenger van to pick up and return children attending Sunday School
- Ensure all passengers are safely seated and accounted for during transport
- Follow all traffic laws and church transportation policies
- Maintain cleanliness of the van and report any maintenance needs
- Communicate with families regarding pickup and drop-off times as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Previous experience working with children in a church or educational setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to Christian values and teachings
- Ability to lead children in engaging and spiritually enriching activities
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Additional Requirements:
- Background check and driving record verification
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Must be able to safely lift small children in/out of van seats when necessary
- Must maintain good communication with the church staff and families
