Job Summary

The Academic Pathways Advisor supports the College of Pharmacy s efforts to strengthen enrollment, improve student progression, and provide specialized academic guidance for students pursuing pharmacy and toxicology pathways. This position serves as a primary point of contact for pre-pharmacy/tox students, prospective students, applicants, and feeder institutions. The position also supports College-level pathway events, prospective student communication, and outreach activities designed to help students understand and successfully navigate pharmacy and toxicology academic pathways.

Duties

and Responsibilities Academic Advising and Student Pathway Support
  • Serve as academic advisor for assigned pre-pharmacy students.
  • Provide academic pathway advising for toxicology students, as assigned.
  • Assist students with course planning, registration, prerequisite completion, and degree planning.
  • Monitor student progression, academic standing, and readiness for admission or continued progression.
  • Coordinate advising appointments and maintain accurate advising records.
  • Assist with transfer evaluations and prerequisite verification.
  • Help students understand admission requirements, progression standards, application timelines, and career pathways.
  • Identify and assist students experiencing academic difficulty.
  • Refer students to wellness, academic support, financial aid, accessibility, or other student support services as needed.
  • Coordinate pre-pharmacy student success initiatives.
  • Support retention and persistence efforts for students in pharmacy and toxicology pathways.
  • 30% Manage the college s wellness program for all students, faculty, and staff.
Prospective Student and Applicant Support
  • Conduct prospective student appointments, individual visits, and tours.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective students and applicants.
  • Support applicant communication workflows.
  • Provide individualized guidance to students considering pharmacy or toxicology programs.
  • Assist students with understanding prerequisite sequencing, transfer options, application steps, and program expectations.
  • Support interview day logistics and admissions events.
  • Track prospective student contacts, advising interactions, event participation, and applicant engagement.
College-Level Pathway Events and Outreach Support
  • Coordinate and participate in College-level pathway events, including PharmFUTURE, Pharm Jr., PREP, Future Pharmacist Club activities, and related initiatives.
  • Travel to recruitment fairs, feeder schools, community colleges, and other outreach events to provide program-specific academic pathway guidance.
  • Maintain relationships with pre-pharmacy advisors, high school counselors, feeder institutions, and community colleges.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of orientation programs and transition activities for incoming students.
  • Advise and oversee the Future Pharmacist Club Facebook group.
  • Support recruitment-related data tracking and reporting for College-level planning.
Communication, Data, and Program Support
  • Maintain accurate records of student contacts, advising appointments, outreach activities, and pathway engagement.
  • Assist with tracking recruitment, advising, progression, and conversion data.
  • Prepare reports related to prospective student engagement, advising activity, event participation, and enrollment pathway outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify barriers to student progression and recommend improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement of advising processes, communication workflows, and pathway initiatives.
  • Assist with development of student-facing materials related to prerequisite planning, academic pathways, admissions preparation, and transition support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of College enrollment, student success, and academic pathway development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in academic advising, student services, recruitment support, admissions, higher education, student success, or a related area.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, families, school counselors, and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, events, communications, and student interactions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for school visits, community college visits, recruitment fairs, and College outreach events.
  • Proficiency with common office software, student information systems, databases, spreadsheets, and communication tools.
  • Be able to articulate the College of Pharmacy s mission and values and discuss requirements and curriculum with prospective students, school counselors and parents through one-on-one encounters, in group…
