Job Summary
DPR Construction is seeking a MEP Superintendent with 5 or more years of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction experience. The role involves managing day‑to‑day scheduling and field coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low‑voltage, and fire sprinkler scopes; collaborating with project executives and regional leadership; and leading system start‑up, test‑and‑balance, and commissioning.
Responsibilities- Review trade partner proposals, schedules, and logistics.
- Manage installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low‑voltage, fire/life safety, and fire protection systems.
- Participate in review of MEP shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in developing full commissioning plans for all MEP systems, including test requirements, inspections, factory start‑up, acceptance testing, documentation, and integrated test plans.
- Provide onsite construction support, overseeing start‑up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification, including owner training and project close‑out.
- Develop and oversee project‑specific MEP quality and safety programs and contribute to safety event analysis.
- Create and update construction schedules, monitor logic, and adjust activities as needed.
- Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
- Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve occupancy milestones.
- Lead DPR’s injury‑free safety program.
- Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource loading in conjunction with DPR’s self‑perform crews.
- Foster development of foremen into future superintendents.
- Represent DPR field operations as the primary interface with owners and design teams.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction concepts and applicable codes.
- Experience resolving complex MEP design and construction issues with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to run meetings with multiple attendees, issue minutes promptly, and follow up on deliverables.
- Good understanding of fire/life safety and sprinkler systems integration.
- Good understanding of test‑and‑balance process and requirements.
- Good understanding of building automation systems and sequences relevant to MEP.
- Good understanding of MEP safety regulations and ability to contribute to a culture of safety.
- Proficiency with virtual design and construction software (preferred).
- Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning (preferred).
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 (preferred).
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to create and support a positive team environment.
- 5+ years as a MEP Superintendent, preferably within DPR’s core markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude.
Position is 100% on‑site. Candidates may be based in any location where DPR has an office. Weekly travel to the project location in Monroe, LA is required. Competitive per diem and travel incentives are offered.
