Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist - Days

As a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist, you are on the front‑line during surgeries, supporting the surgeon to ensure patient safety and seamless surgical procedures.

Provide primary surgical assistance during operative procedures, including preparing patients, handling instruments, and ensuring all supplies are available.

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Use surgical instruments skillfully in accordance with their design and purpose.
• Ensure availability of instrumentation and supplies before each case.
• Apply principles of sterilization, universal precautions, and hazardous materials management during decontamination of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist in transporting patients postoperatively.
• Stay updated on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.

• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Graduated from a Surgical Technology Diploma program.
• Certified Surgical Tech-First Assist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
