Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe is seeking an experienced and driven Human Resources Director to join our leadership team. Our 42-bed acute adult and geriatric psychiatric facility in Monroe, Louisiana is committed to providing high-quality care—and that starts with building and supporting a strong, engaged workforce.
About the RoleAs the Human Resources Director, you will serve as a strategic and operational leader, overseeing all HR functions within the facility. This role is responsible for driving employee engagement, ensuring compliance, and supporting a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
You will partner closely with leadership to support staffing, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development, while ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and PI standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all HR operations including staffing, employee relations, compensation, and benefits
- Oversee time and attendance processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Guide leaders on performance management, including coaching and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- Support onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, etc.)
- Serve as a trusted resource for leadership and staff on HR-related matters
- Drive performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience in employee relations, compliance, and performance management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset
Proficiency with HR systems and general computer applications - Understanding of behavioral health or medical environments is a plus
