Heavy Equipment Technician
LocationMonroe, Louisiana
DescriptionLouisiana Cat has been proud to represent Caterpillar® for 4 generations, serving customers with high‑quality Cat® equipment, service, and parts since 1933. We are looking for a high‑energy, ambitious candidate to join our growing operations.
SalaryYearly range: $60,000 - $120,000
Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy equipment, including electrical systems, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, power generation, and power trains.
- Remove and install heavy‑equipment engine components according to Caterpillar standards and technical service manuals.
- Understand Caterpillar exchange‑parts process and perform financial cost analysis of repairs for customers.
- Create, track, and formalize work‑order documents on Caterpillar customer‑service report software systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior technical training in heavy machinery or equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must own required tool inventory (tooling program discussed during interview).
- Strong customer‑service skills, professional demeanor, and a “safety‑first” mentality.
- Shift: 12‑hour days; some weekend; variety of shifts (specifics discussed with interview).
- Requires physical movement.
