Join Our Team at MSE!

At MSE, we're more than a manufacturing facility-we're a team committed to producing high-quality plastic film products used across a wide range of industries. Safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do. We are seeking dependable, hands-on individuals who want to build a long-term career in a fast-paced production environment.

Fast-Track Career Opportunity

This position offers a 6-9 month fast-track development program, designed to advance motivated employees from Extruder Technician to Extruder Operator I. Through structured training, hands-on experience, and performance milestones, successful candidates can quickly grow into an operator role with increased responsibility and skill development.

Position Overview

The Extruder Technician / Operator I plays a critical role in ensuring extrusion lines operate safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Technicians begin by supporting extrusion operations and, through the fast-track program, progressively assume full operator responsibilities.

What You'll Do

As an Extruder Technician (Training Phase)

* Assist with the safe and efficient operation of extrusion lines.

* Perform routine quality checks on film products, including thickness, width, and appearance.

* Remove finished rolls and transport them to designated pallet areas.

* Wrap, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.

* Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas in support of 5S and safety initiatives.

* Work closely with Operators and Supervisors while completing structured on-the-job training.

As an Extruder Operator I (Post Fast-Track Advancement)

* Perform startup and shutdown procedures for 1-2 extrusion lines following established operating procedures.

* Monitor film quality throughout production, ensuring all specifications are met.

* Load raw materials and maintain continuous extrusion operations.

* Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

* Accurately document production data and material usage.

* Support changeovers and daily production goals through teamwork and communication.

* Continue skill development to qualify for higher operator classifications.

Fast-Track Program Expectations

* Advancement through the fast-track program is contingent upon meeting defined training milestones, performance standards, and safety expectations within the 6-9 month timeframe.

* Progress will be evaluated through regular performance reviews conducted by leadership.

* Employees who do not meet required milestones, demonstrate insufficient progress, or fail to comply with program expectations may remain at or revert to the appropriate skill classification based on demonstrated competency.

* Compensation will align with the employee's verified skill level, which may include adjustment to the base pay rate of the Extruder Technician position if advancement criteria are not met.

What We're Looking For

* Minimum of 3 years of continuous employment with a single company, demonstrating reliability, stability, and commitment.

* 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; extrusion experience preferred.

* Ability to read and use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.

* Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

* Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 65-80 lbs for extended periods.

* Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.

* Willingness to learn, grow, and participate in the fast-track development program.

* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Why You'll Love Working at MSE

* Competitive pay with overtime opportunities.

* Structured training and a clear 6-9 month fast-track path from Technician to Operator.

* Team-oriented culture where safety and respect come first.

* Stable, long-term employment with a trusted local employer.

* Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and retirement plans.
