Door Plant Trainee

Career Path: Direct progression to Door Craftsman / Assembler within 3 to 6 months

Ready to build a hands-on career with guaranteed room to grow?

We're looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team as Door Plant Trainees. You don't need years of door-building experience-we will pair you with experienced mentors who will teach you the trade from the ground up!

What You'll Do

As a Trainee, you will cross-train in both our Interior and Exterior Door Shops. Through a structured 3-to-6-month On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, you'll learn how to take raw materials and turn them into precision-built door units.

Your Daily Focus:
  • Learn & Build: Work 1-on-1 with senior craftsmen to learn door assembly, sub-assemblies (hinges, jambs, heads), and custom door builds.

  • Operate Tools & Machinery: Gain hands-on experience setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial saws, routers, pneumatic nail guns, and automated production lines (Magnum & Eagle lines).

  • Quality Inspection: Learn how to read work orders, measure accurately, inspect finished wood components for defects, and ensure every unit meets quality standards.

  • Material Handling: Prepare materials for production, stock worktables, and shrink-wrap/palletize finished orders for shipment.

  • Safety First: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly follow safety standards and PPE requirements to keep yourself and your teammates safe.

What We're Looking For
  • Eagerness to Learn: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to master specialized woodworking tools and machinery.

  • Dependability: Great attendance, punctuality, and a proactive mindset-asking questions when needed and offering help when tasks are complete.

  • Safety-Minded: Willingness to wear all required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots) and follow safety guidelines at all times.

  • Physical Capability: Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment, standing for long periods, and performing physical labor (lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling materials).

  • Basic Tool Skills: Familiarity with basic power/hand tools or prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or warehousing is a plus.

Why Join Our Team?
  • Mentorship: Learn valuable, specialized manufacturing skills.

  • Team Environment: Work alongside supportive coworkers and leaders who meet with you weekly to celebrate your progress.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision, group life, LTD, vacation, sick leave, retirement options, and much more.
