Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Pediatric Nurse role located in Monroe, LA. The Pediatric Nurse will provide direct nursing care to children in a day health setting, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing age-appropriate assessments. Responsibilities include implementing care plans, responding to changes in condition, and communicating with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will document care accurately, support therapeutic and developmental activities, and help maintain a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment.

The role also involves educating families on care routines, infection control, and health maintenance while adhering to all regulatory and organizational policies.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Nursing and Pediatric Nursing skills to provide safe, developmentally appropriate care for children.
  • Knowledge of Pediatrics and Medicine to support clinical decision-making and collaborate effectively with providers.
  • Experience or training in Critical Care Nursing for managing clinically complex or medically fragile pediatric patients is highly beneficial.
  • Current, unencumbered RN or LPN/LVN license in the state of Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain), with current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in pediatric, pediatric home health, school health, or pediatric day health settings preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team, communicate clearly with children and families, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Commitment to infection control, safety standards, and culturally sensitive, gender-neutral, non-discriminatory care.
