Job Overview

Affinity Health Group a Division of The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is seeking a Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care services to patients and collaborate with physicians. The role includes scheduling, injections, pre-certifications, procedures, referrals, Rx call-ins, and phone triage.

• Provides patient care as a member of the health care team within scope of license.
• Follows nursing policies, procedures, and protocols and implements appropriately in the care of adult and pediatric patients.
• Provides instructions to patients regarding treatment plan, medications and follow-up.
• Communicates effectively with other health care team members including accurate documentation in patient medical records.
• Greets patients, completes registration forms, and gives instructions.
• Interviews patients, records and updates medical information (history, chief complaint) and medications into my Chart.
• Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests.
• Provides patient education regarding medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage health.
• Triages emergency situations.
• Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization.
• Handles refill requests and prior authorizations for medications.

• Current Louisiana License.
• Demonstrated successful organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Effective and proactive communication, both verbally and in writing.

• Drug testing.
• Background checks.
• Baton Rouge Clinic credit check.

Medical Assistant Certification or a current LPN License.

Hourly.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; schedule may vary as needed.
