SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate employee health care in ambulatory health services; examine and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses; perform selected laboratory testing; offer referrals to physicians, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. The Nurse Practitioner will also work with the Medical Director in the care and treatment of patients.
This is a PRN position.
- Serves as the health care provider for ambulatory patients in the clinic. Clinic services offered include laboratory testing, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries.
- Refers to outside specialists and other internal services such as physical therapy and behavioral counseling as needed.
- Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Schedules follow-up visits in office or unit as needed.
- Coordinates and participates in health promotional activities (providing printed information, routing testing, flu shots, mammograms, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Adult or family nurse practitioner certification or physician assistant certification.
- Current good standing with local Board of Medical Examiners and/or Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state with no restrictions of current licensure.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Able to lift 100 pounds to assist patients.
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
- May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
