Job Overview

This role leads the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act framework, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The leader delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, and supports the company's nursing philosophy. The position requires sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity and participation in activities to achieve unit and departmental strategic goals.

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Required: None.

• Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.

• Certification in a clinical specialty area.

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills and ability to be self‑directed.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
• Good interpersonal skills.

• Uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improve the profession of nursing.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction, adapting explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
• Supports the Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, reporting any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct.

Physical demands include occasional lifting of 50 to 100 pounds, frequent lifting of 25 to 50 pounds and constant lifting of 10 to 20 pounds. The role involves walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and potential exposure to blood, body fluids and communicable diseases. Employees may also be exposed to hazardous medications or waste in accordance with standard healthcare protocols.
