American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with a compact or LA license for a night shift position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- NICU and Newborn Nursery combined unit
- Average daily census of 10 patients
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Every other weekend required (2-4 shifts per 4 week schedule)
- Occasional floating to postpartum/peds units
- Attends high risk deliveries, conducts car seat testing, and handles newborn diagnoses for NICU and Wellbaby
- No call-in required
- Active compact or LA RN license required in hand upon consideration
- BLS, NRP, and CPI certifications required
- AHA certifications required
- 2 years of NICU specialty experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Skills in IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and various feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Care for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended facility presence during emergency events
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- 2 Manager/Supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start (Charge RNs not accepted)
- RTO must be documented on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as travel staff
