American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with prior ED travel experience and Level III Trauma Center exposure for a night shift assignment.
Details- Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Level III Trauma Center with stroke certification
- Patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Epic EMR experience required
- No call-in requirement for this unit
- Active Compact or LA RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI
- TNCC certification preferred
- AHA-issued certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Prior travel experience in the ED setting required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
- Experience managing psychiatric holds, acute psychosis, and violent behavior
- Skilled in pediatric emergency care including seizures, asthma, and head injuries
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
- Provide comprehensive emergency care across adult and pediatric populations including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological cases
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, with expectation to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Orientation held five days per week
- Two manager/supervisor references (not charge RNs) required prior to starting contract, though not required for initial consideration
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- All RTO must be listed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
- Former Ochsner permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a full year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
