Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room
LocationMonroe, LA | Acute Care
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation, order entry, and patient management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care
- Maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications as required throughout the assignment
- Be available to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and staff rotation
- In the event of an emergency or disaster, may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain at the facility or serve as part of a relief team until the event has passed
- Active Compact or Louisiana RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required (AHA-issued certifications required)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
- Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on file with the driver's license to the facility) — local travelers are not accepted
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at this health system must have been separated for at least 1 full year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
- Experience working in high-acuity or Level I/II trauma emergency environments
- Orientation is held 5 days a week and includes billable module completion, supporting a smooth transition into the role
- Work within a structured, well-supported emergency department that values consistent staffing and fair scheduling practices
