Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 1 year of experience and current Epic proficiency.

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand upon consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications required
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
• Average daily census of 25 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule
• No call-in required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Provide care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve as relief staff
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Scrub color required:
  Royal Blue
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract;
  Charge RNs not accepted as references
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers
