REQ This job maintains the total electrical distribution system throughout Ochsner's facilities. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshoots, utilizing specialized test equipment and hand/power tools.

** Education
* * Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred - Additional degrees,  business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications
** Work Experience
** Required - 2 years in commercial or light industrial experience

Preferred - Experience in 480V to 4160 voltages
** Certifications
* * Required - Electrical license necessary after 6 months of hire
** Other
* * Required - Trade school training in the electrical field.
Electrical license.
** Knowledge

Skills and Abilities

(KSAs)
*** Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
* Knowledge of the State, Parish, and the Southern Building Codes.
* Ability to and experience with proper use all power, hand tools and specialized equipment associated with the electrical trade.
* Interpersonal skills.
* Ability to and experience with working with minimal supervision.
* Ability to and experience with reading, writing and understanding mechanical and electrical symbol isms to enable one to interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and mechanical.
* Drawing skills in order to document electrical charges on existing prints for upgrading by CADD.
* Stress management skills.
* Ability to crawl, climb, bend, and lift 50 pounds without any restrictions.
* Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time.
* Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and take emergency calls.

*** Maintains and repairs complex electrical systems.

* Researches and troubleshoots problems.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
