PositionRental Equipment Technician – Monroe, Louisiana
Salary Potential$60,000 – $72,000 yearly (reflects experience, skills, education and training; overtime paid daily after 8 hours).
Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment (engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems).
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and specifications to determine repair methods.
- Replace or repair defective components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Rebuild, install, and align pump assemblies using safe rigging methods.
- Create, track, and formalize work orders in a timely manner.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of hand tools.
- Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Must own required tool inventory;
Louisiana Cat offers a Tooling Program (details during interview). - Strong customer service skills and a safety‑first mentality.
- Shift: Monday‑Friday 7 a.m.–5 p.m.; may require work outside this schedule (details during interview).
- Work environment: requires physical movement, lifting (up to 75 pounds), squatting, bending, climbing, and operating mechanical components in a Louisiana climate.
Stand, use hands for finger, handle, and reach; lift up to 75 pounds; perform prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting; exert push/pull forces with arms; climb equipment; operate a field service vehicle with GVW
