Job Description

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only ensure that customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are also the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers.

The CDL‑A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). They communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.

They function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.

• Pay: $62,000 - $85,000 annually

Food and food service delivery drivers play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of the national food supply chain. They deliver goods safely, maintain customer satisfaction, and adhere to all regulatory requirements.

• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and reporting any issues.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines, reporting any safety hazards immediately.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and securing of freight, perform count checks, verify invoices, and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Secure trailer and freight, unload damaged goods and returns, and complete end‑of‑shift paperwork and procedures.
• Comply with daily record‑keeping and hours‑of‑service requirements, adhering to DOT, state, and company policies.
• Uphold overall safety standards and follow guidelines for proper freight handling throughout the delivery process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meets PFG Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements for the past 3 years.
• Pass pre‑employment drug test.
• Meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements.
• Pass road test.
• Able to secure a new DOT Medical Card.
• Able to hand‑lift and utilize a two‑wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move and stack product cases or freight ranging from approximately 60 to 90 pounds.
• Must be able to work the assigned schedule required for the position.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• English language proficiency is required.
