Cross Country Education is urgently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained, cross-categorical classroom in the welcoming community of Monroe, MI. Take charge of a multi-grade (K-5) caseload and make a lasting impact for the remainder of the school year and beyond!
Position Overview:
- Teach in a self-contained, cross-categorical classroom, instructing students with diverse disabilities across different grade levels (K-2, 2-5, and 1-3).
- Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans, manage and communicate student progress, and maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
- Collaborate with other staff, supervise a teacher's aide, and communicate regularly with parents to ensure students' success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement (Required)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to occasionally transport students and attend required meetings and training
