MCISD Head Start Substitute Aide
MCISD Head Start Substitute Aides take the place of a regularly appointed classroom or bus aide in his or her absence. Substitute aides have the option to select to work in any MCISD Head Start classroom, located in the local district school buildings throughout Monroe County.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Available:
School year substitute position available. Up to 7 hours per day or as determined by assignment. Lunch break duty-free, non-paid or non-duty free, paid lunch break (30 minutes) as determined by assignment. Employment is on an as needed basis. Partial day options available.
Salary & Benefits:
$13.40/hour. No benefits.

Education/Certification:
GED or High School Diploma required. May consider Certificate of Completion. - Experience:
Previous experience working with preschool age children preferred. Knowledge of the purpose of the Head Start Program. - Skills/Other:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with preschool students. Good verbal, math and grammar skills. Ability to interact with staff and parents. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Criminal History Check: A Michigan and FBI criminal history check, post job offer and prior to employment. The processing fee of $43.25 is the responsibility of the district. Childcare Background Check through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs post job offer and prior to employment.

The employee will frequently drive while performing the duties of the job. The employee will continuously interact with the public, other staff and students. While performing the duties of this job the employee will occasionally hear conversation in a quiet and/or noisy environment. - Work Environment:
