Gas Utility Worker

Michigan Gas Utilities delivers natural gas to customers in Southern and Western Michigan. MGU, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas Utility Worker in our Monroe, Michigan location.

Provide quality customer service by inspecting meters and equipment and providing information to customers. Perform other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Report to assigned leader. Duties performed under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor.

• Report irregularities in meter reading or in gas consumption. Inform supervisor of any discrepancies. Report suspected cases of diversion. Report meter installation not conforming to company rules. Report gas leaks on service lines, broken meters, and service seals. Provide Customer Service. Relay customer requests to appropriate personnel. Provide information regarding company policies and rates. Handle minor customer complaints.
• Paint meters. Common duties as assigned by management. Complete records and forms required.
• Perform locating and atmospheric corrosion surveys.
• Assist other employees of higher classification when required.

• High school diploma, HSED, or GED.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company standards for driving.
• 1+ years of experience with safety requirements.
• 3+ years of familiarity with computers.

Pay Range Minimum: $25.54

Pay Range Maximum: $34.55
