Production Engineer

Overview

Join one of the largest electric utility companies in the industry as a Production Engineer
. In this role, you will assist in planning and executing periodic outages for the unit, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)
• Knowledge of pipes, valves, actuators, or steam cycles is a plus
• Experience in the Utility Industry is a plus

• Support the Forced Outage Management Process by developing S1 & S2 outage scope documents, as needed
• Assist in MA-16 scope/schedule development for periodic outages
• Act as capital project champion on assigned PMPs and collaborate with project managers on scope development and implementation
• Monitor unit performance and prepare monthly Unit Health Assessments
• Communicate unit performance issues, derates, and short/long-term problems to Unit Engineer and senior staff
• Review weekly soot blower, precipitator performance reports, and boiler profile reports
• Conduct daily reviews of unit operating and maintenance issues (availability, PI charts, alarms, logs, UCF constraints, etc.)
• Participate in outage critiques/AAR to identify improvement areas
• Attend daily plant status and planning meetings
• Stay familiar with coal mill routine/emergency maintenance and rebuilds
• Contribute to vision and strategy for improving reliability of the assigned unit
• Enter confined spaces when the unit is offline and monitor air quality
• Use temperature guns to check active steam lines
• Conduct general plant walkthroughs, including areas with extreme heat (up to 130°F on upper floors)
