Mortgage Banker

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Mortgage Banker to join our team! This position handles prospective customer and existing client mortgage needs, including initial consultation, financial review, and inputting data into our Mortgage Loan Origination System. The Mortgage Banker discusses client needs, recommends suitable loan products, assists in assembling loan packages, and collaborates with the underwriting team throughout the process. Use professional judgment to identify good risk opportunities for the organization.

• Develop mortgage loan business using referral sources.
• Build and maintain community relationships.
• Provide excellent customer service from approval to closing, coordinating with loan origination sources.
• Market to and prospect new referral sources such as Realtors, Builders, and Centers of Influence (COI).
• Expand internal and external referral networks to grow business.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least two (2) years of experience self-sourcing leads in financial services.
• Ability to travel within the assigned region.
