As a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES- Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratoryoutpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room
- Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing
- Prepares urine specimens
- Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies areneeded
- Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition

REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
