Position: Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Saint Therese - Monroe, MI Part-Time | Medication Technician (Med Tech) Currently Available Schedules and

Shifts:

  • Evening/Midnight Shift: 6:00 p.m.

    - 6:30 a.m
  • Part-time | 72 hours per two-week pay period
  • Six 12-hour shifts per two-week period
  • Positions available include working every other weekend and every other holiday

The Difference You'll Make
  • Safely administer prescribed medications, including oral medications and, when trained and authorized, subcutaneous insulin, in accordance with physician orders and community policy
  • Assist residents with medication administration while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions
  • Accurately document medication administration, including PRN use, effectiveness, and any follow-up interventions
  • Obtain and record vital signs as needed to assess resident response to medications
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records under appropriate supervision
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, supporting overall care needs
  • Foster a respectful, compassionate environment for residents, families, and team members
Qualifications

Experience

Required:

  • Previous experience as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) required if formal training has not been completed
  • Previous experience as a CENA or Nurse Aide required
  • Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, or direct care healthcare facility
Education Preferred
  • Successful completion of an approved Medication Technician (Med Tech) training program preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Resident-centered approach with awareness and sensitivity to individual needs and abilities
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of electronic charting systems and basic computer applications
  • Dependability and ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and transferring residents
  • Professional maturity and composure in a fast-paced care environment
