Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.

Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room
  • Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing
  • Prepares urine specimens
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed
  • Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
