Position Title: Quality Control / Rework Report To: Quality Supervisor

Backyard Products in Monroe, MI is seeking qualified, hard‑working and dedicated Quality Control / Production Team Members to support our rework and manufacturing operations.
This position is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished goods to ensure they meet company quality standards while supporting production processes as needed. The role plays a critical part in maintaining product consistency and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
This is a fast paced and physically demanding position that requires standing for extended periods, repetitive movements, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment handling wood materials, hardware, and assembled structures.
Compensation- Ability to earn up to $18.00 per hour (Depending on experience, shift, tenure, performance, and attendance)
- Typical schedule:
M – Th, shift starts at 6am – approximately 2:30pm with required seasonal OT (working up to 10 hour days, working Fridays and some Saturdays)
- Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products
- Identify, document, and communicate defects or non‑conforming materials
- Ensure products meet company specifications and quality standards
- Support production lines with inspection processes and corrective actions
- Monitor and verify proper material usage and placement during packaging
- Review work instructions, drawings, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate quality record and documentation
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S standards)
- Assist with rework or repair of defective products as needed
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Adhere to all safety policies and lockout / tagout procedures
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and drawings
- Basic math skills and measurement knowledge (tape measure use preferred)
- Ability to identify defects and inconsistencies
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Manual dexterity for handling materials and tools
- Reliability and strong attendance record required
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
- Steel / composite toe footwear required (not provided by company)
- Previous manufacturing or quality experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Other duties as assigned
