The Total Productive Maintenance Expert will lead the Total Productive Maintenance core competency and develop all standard processes, metrics and training necessary to lead the successful deployment of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy throughout all Tenneco manufacturing locations. The role is also accountable for developing and deploying appropriate communications to ensure the acceleration and acceptance of TPM throughout the organization, while monitoring and reporting progress.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and deploy the TPM implementation strategy: technical approach, deployment schedule, structure, standard job descriptions, and governance.
- Partner with communications to develop a robust communications plan for the TPM Core Competency rollout.
- Drive the annual review of the TPM Maturity Model assessment and update cycle.
- Ensure alignment between TPM and other TBS core competency standards and metrics.
- Drive standard implementation and tracking processes for all TPM standard processes.
- Support and drive root cause analysis, and measure the effectiveness of corrective action(s).
- Development of standard TPM job descriptions and related manufacturing roles and responsibilities.
- Partner with learning and development on ensuring appropriate training is developed and in place to accelerate TPM acceptance and implementation.
- Responsible for identifying external and internal best practices, validating, and sharing best practices across sites.
- Ensure Best in Class processes are present throughout the TPM maturity model by benchmarking world-class companies and importing best practices on an annual basis.
- Expert level knowledge of total productive maintenance.
- Knowledge of SAP PM a plus.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Maintains poise under pressure and readily demonstrates an optimistic nature.
- Ability to lead in a matrix environment.
- Challenges the status quo and champions new initiatives.
- Must be results oriented and possess a drive for meeting deliverables and deadlines.
- Leadership skills in problem solving and change management are required.
- Be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in planning and organizing to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications:
Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering or business discipline.
- Must have 10 years proven TPM implementation experience with multi-site deployment responsibility.
- Must have 5+ years’ proven hands on experience driving lean and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment with documented breakthrough results.
- Must have 5 years’ project management and change management related experience.
- Proven TPM implementation experience with bottom line results in a global automotive company.
- Experience working in a global matrix environment.
- Functional leadership experience across a multi-site network.
- Travel up to 50%.
