- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to protocols.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergencies.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions as required.
- Take and monitor vital signs, address deviations to prevent complications.
- Respond to life‑saving situations per standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
- Initiate patient education plans per needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification.
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical Abilities – must be able to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal Skills – must work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism.
- Technical/Motor Skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, move when assisting procedures and using equipment.
- Mental Requirements – cope with frequent contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, work without assistance, handle irregular activity schedules, and maintain concentration to detail.
