Oncology RN Opportunity
Seeking an experienced Oncology RN to provide specialized care to adult and geriatric cancer patients in an outpatient infusion setting. The nurse will administer chemotherapy, manage patient symptoms, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies following oncologic protocols.
- Monitor patient responses and recognize signs of adverse reactions or complications.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and symptom management.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of treatments, patient status, and interventions in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with pharmacy, social services, and support teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures, including PPE and isolation precautions.
Qualifications:
- Current State RN license with minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in oncology.
- Valid BLS and Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certifications.
- Demonstrated expertise in chemotherapy administration, IV therapy, port management, and handling cytotoxic spills.
- Knowledge of oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and extravasation.
- Strong assessment, care coordination, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient infusion environment.
