Position: NURSING CLINICAL COORDINATOR & SUCCESS COACH
Nursing Clinical Coordinator & Success Coach
The Nursing Clinical Coordinator & Success Coach serves as an integral member of the Nursing Program leadership team by coordinating clinical education activities, supporting student success initiatives, and assisting with program operations. This position is responsible for coordinating clinical placements and regulatory compliance, developing and implementing student success strategies to improve retention, progression, and NCLEX success, and providing administrative support for accreditation, assessment, recruitment, and special projects.
The position works collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, nursing faculty, clinical partners, and Student Services to ensure excellence in program operations and student outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
I. Clinical Coordination (Approximately 60%)
Coordinates nursing student clinical assignments, student clinical requirements, and observational experiences using available resources including the ACEMAPP system.Assists with coordinating nursing faculty assignments including clinical rotations/schedules. Coordinates faculty liaison assignments for program preceptorships.Assists with recruiting, hiring, and evaluating clinical adjunct nursing faculty. Provides direct supervision to clinical adjunct nursing faculty and serves as a contact/mentor for new and returning clinical adjunct faculty.Tracks and verifies clinical compliance for students and faculty regarding immunizations, drug screens, background checks, BLS certification, etc. using ACEMAPP or other systems as needed.Requests and maintains records of nursing clinical faculty licensure, professional development, and professional organization involvement.Promotes ongoing professional development of clinical adjunct nursing faculty, sharing resources and information that supports effective instruction.Serves as the college's representative and primary contact for nursing clinical partners/agencies, facilitating clinical placements suitable to meet program needs. Explores/seeks out new clinical placements when needed and facilitates the establishment & maintenance of contracts with clinical partners.Serves as the college's liaison for nursing clinical partner satisfaction and feedback to ensure placements remain in good standing. Completes clinical site visits per policy schedule.Collaborates with simulation and nursing skills lab coordinator and staff to ensure learning activities align with clinical outcomes.Responds to nursing student clinical concerns/complaints. Holds students accountable to the college's code of conduct and course/program policies. Facilitates discipline according to policy. Forwards student appeals according to published procedure.Assists in the clinical coordination of other programs as assigned.II. Student Success & Academic Support (Approximately 30%)
Provides individual success coaching and tutoring for students identified through faculty referrals, early alerts, or self-referral. (up to 8 hours per week)Monitors student progress and collaborates with faculty to identify students requiring intervention.Develops individualized success plans and follow-up strategies.In collaboration with nursing faculty:
Coordinates review sessions for dosage calculations, pharmacology, Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing, maternal/newborn, pediatrics, mental health, and NCLEX preparation.Develops and facilitates at least one workshop or Lunch & Learn session each semester on topics such as:- NCLEX preparation
- Test-taking strategies
- Time management
- Stress management
- Study skills
- APA formatting
- Dosage calculations
Connects students with tutoring, counseling, disability services, financial aid, and other campus/community resources.Maintains documentation of interventions and evaluates effectiveness for SPE.III. Program Operations & Administrative Support (Approximately 10%)
Assists in directing, developing, and implementing the daily operation of the Nursing programs including general administration, program curriculum and accreditation.Remains current in rules, regulations, and requirements of external licensing, accreditation, and regulatory agencies.Works with the Director of Nursing (DON) to prepare, monitor and manage nursing program budgets, particularly those associated with clinical adjunct faculty.Participates in division and department meetings. Conducts department meetings in absence of DON.Assists with reviewing, revising and updating nursing program sheets and handbooks for both students and faculty.When directed, collects, reviews and summarizes graduate data and other data resources used for program evaluation and improvement purposes.Assists with preparing annual reports for nursing licensing and accreditation agencies, including collecting, aggregating, and disaggregating data.
