The Quality Global leader develops, implements, coordinates and improves the quality systems in order to ensure compliance to Customer Specific Requirements (CSR’s). The Quality Global leader focuses on continuous improvement in product/process quality performance, Quality Management Systems, Warranty Performance and Customer Satisfaction measures. This person will have product/process knowledge, quality competencies/skills and robust understanding of knowledge in his field and is able to represent Tenneco at the customer.
Develops, implements, coordinates and improves the quality systems in order to ensure compliance to Customer Specific Requirements (CSR’s). The Quality Global leader focuses on continuous improvement in product/process quality performance, Quality Management Systems, Warranty Performance and Customer Satisfaction measures and will have product/process knowledge, quality competencies/skills and robust understanding of knowledge in his field and is able to represent Tenneco at the customer.
Coordinate and ensure that the Customer Specific Requirements, Customer Quality Management Systems (SREA, Phased PPAP, Manufacturing Systems Assessment (MSA), etc…expectations, Product functional performance expectation are rolled out and understood by all appropriate stakeholders in all regions.
Customer APQP/TENPlus Process- Voice of Customer:
Analyze the Customer RFQs/provide input to project screening process from a Quality & Warranty perspective, and participate in approval process to continue with the customer quotation. - Interface with cross functional team member’s during development phase to assure the quality customer requirements are understood and embedded of the new projects.
- Support the project management/ TEN Plus process by ensuring the Stage/ Gate “deliverable/ outputs” meet Customer/ Tenneco expectation/ requirements.
- Ensure that the Plant Launch/Quality teams are compliant with Customer requirements and have documented evidence to get customer approvals/sign-off on final PPAP reports.
- Capture and embed Lessons Learned from customers, manufacturing and engineering processes into the TEN PLUS/APQP process and CBU for future product/process launches. Use read-across globally.
- Lead internal discussions about new customer initiatives and annual quality/warranty targets. Partner with CU/BU Leads to provide Tenneco’s consensus/ approach to achieving Quality/ Warranty performance commitment to the customer targets.
- Prepare the internal yearly quality action plan to meet the customer targets.
- Develop Quality Measures/Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)/ targets that monitors the effectiveness of the Quality Improvement plan to meet customer targets.
- Manage and lead the customer quality performance. Ensure customer performance data from all Tenneco regions are aggregated/rolled up to manage the global Customer Scorecard. Coordinate /Lead /Report the development/ closure of Quality Improvement Plans to drive Customer Satisfaction Scores to Green.
- Align with the regional quality and manufacturing stakeholders to develop action plans to solve customer product quality concerns/perception concerns.
- Ensure solutions developed and implemented to solve chronic issues are shared across the regions as a part of “lessons learned”.
- As appropriate drive Customer Deviation Approval and/or Customer Change Control processes to support business situation.
- Partner/Support the BU Warranty team’s efforts to drive solutions for Customer Warranty performance issues. Supports team’s implementation of solution for engineering and manufacturing causes to ensure timely closure of actions. Ensure appropriate actions are “read across/lessons learned” are shared and implemented across regions where solutions are pertinent.
- Partner with Warranty team’s and CU/BU Leads to report Customer Warranty Performance and actions/solutions implemented. Manage Customer Warranty Liability Cost data to minimize the exposure. Collaborate with the Account Management team to manage warranty cost negotiations.
