About the Role:

The Armed Security Officer at JARS Monroe, JM plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. This position involves vigilant monitoring of premises, responding promptly to incidents, and enforcing security protocols to prevent unauthorized access or activities. The officer will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, managing access control points, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.

The role demands a high level of professionalism, situational awareness, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ultimately, the Armed Security Officer ensures the protection of assets and people, contributing to the overall safety culture of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid armed security officer license as required by local and state regulations.
  • Completion of required firearms training and certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in armed security or law enforcement roles.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications in emergency response or first aid/CPR.
  • Experience with advanced surveillance technology and access control systems.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security and use of force.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and random patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and control access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter secure areas.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including providing first aid or coordinating with emergency services.
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with all individuals on the premises.

The Armed Security Officer utilizes their training in firearms handling and safety to maintain control and respond effectively to threats. Strong observational skills are essential for identifying potential security risks and suspicious behavior during patrols and surveillance monitoring. Communication skills are employed daily to interact professionally with employees, visitors, and law enforcement, ensuring clear and calm exchanges during routine and emergency situations.

Conflict resolution abilities help de-escalate tense situations while enforcing security policies respectfully. Additionally, report writing skills are critical for documenting incidents accurately, supporting investigations, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
