Position: Special Education Teacher (10‑month position)

Qualifications

New Jersey State Department of Education Certification

Other qualifications deemed appropriate by the Board

Responsibilities

Instructional services to assigned students including analysis and assessment of student needs, scheduling, developing and implementing individual student educational plans, preparing written progress reports, and holding parent/guardian conferences as needed.

Providing ongoing coordination and communication of student progress to program administrators, nonpublic school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and the sending resident district and staff.

Demonstrating a variety of teaching strategies aligned with student learning styles.

Establishing and maintaining positive rapport and classroom management to enhance student behavior in accordance with district policy and applicable laws.

Maintaining professional competence, confidentiality, and a willingness to improve performance.

Participating in curriculum program to enhance student learning.

Performing additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Salary

Refer to the MCESA Salary Guide ranging from Step #1 BA $60,553 to Step #20 MA+30 $ 87,653.
