Our Power Buoy® platforms provide clean and reliable electric power and real‑time data communications for remote maritime and subsea applications.

We also provide WAM‑V® unmanned surface vehicles (USV’s) and marine robotics services. The company’s headquarters is located in Monroe Township, New Jersey and has an additional office in Richmond, California.

The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation and documentation of the manufacturing process. They will serve as the link between the Engineering and Operations team to reduce material waste, increase output and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively promote a safe working environment.
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
  • Provide support and basic troubleshooting for current operations.
  • Investigate, gather and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
  • Develop and implement plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Client Production System.
  • Design operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
  • Participate in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.
  • Implement new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Design and/or source equipment for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist R & D effort to implement new products or process into production.
  • Develop all necessary process and audit documentation (i.e. FMEAs, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Balanced Line Capacity Models, Flow Analysis, etc.).
  • Evaluate and recommend implementation of competitive technology.
  • Experience in inspecting incoming hardware and parts to prints (QC function).
  • Carry out duties as member of a project team to meet overall team goals (Quality, Cost, and Schedule).
  • Support the planning of all assembly, integration, testing and deployment of OPT systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with Odoo desired but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists and create manufacturing work instructions to meet all requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, SPC) and assembly manufacturing.
  • Experience with Solid Works or other 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience implementing engineering changes.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • 1‑3 years of experience with shop floor manufacturing.
  • 3‑5 years of Engineering experience (preferably in assembly).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
