Middle School High School Special Education Teacher in Monroe, NY

You will guide students ranging from early childhood through high school, customizing your teaching approach for different abilities-some students are verbal, others non-verbal, and a number present behavioral challenges. Robust on-site support ensures you'll collaborate closely with trained staff prepared to address each child's individual needs.

Qualifications:

• NY State Special Education Teacher Certification for relevant grade levels.
• Master's degree in Education.
• Experience or interest in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school special education settings.
• Comfortable and confident working with classes of different sizes and support ratios.
• Skilled in creating inclusive classrooms, utilizing differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication skills for engaging both verbal and non-verbal students.
• Ability to effectively address challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized lesson plans for special education students.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and specialists to support each child's unique development.
• Monitor academic, social, and emotional progress; adjust strategies as needed.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
