ATI is seeking an Operations Support Intern for our Summer 2027 Internship Program at our Baker's South location in Monroe, NC. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting manufacturing operations through continuous improvement, process standardization, and efficiency-focused projects.

As an intern at ATI, you'll gain hands‑on experience, learn from experienced professionals, and collaborate with teams working to improve manufacturing operations. Your projects and development will be guided by an established ATI professional in your area of interest.
What You’ll DoDepending on your project assignment, you may:
- Develop and support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects that improve operational performance and processes.
- Participate in 5S initiatives focused on Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
- Evaluate current operational practices,
identify opportunities for improvement
, and recommend alternative approaches to improve efficiency. - Help standardize processes and reduce variation across shifts, work areas, or departments.
- Support the development and implementation of improvements to Mill Instructions and Operational Procedures
. - Assist with projects that improve the organization, efficiency, and effectiveness of manufacturing operations.
- Work with Operations and cross‑functional teams to support problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives

- Hands‑on experience supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement
. - Experience developing and leading operational improvement projects
. - Practical knowledge of 5S, process improvement, and operational efficiency methodologies
. - Project planning, coordination, and management experience.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and operational leaders.
- Exposure to various product forms and manufacturing processes
. - Experience evaluating processes, identifying issues, and developing practical solutions
. - Experience with change management and process standardization
. - Opportunities to strengthen critical thinking, problem‑solving, and data analysis skills

- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Operations/Supply Chain - Manufacturing Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- Business Analytics
- Project Management or a related field
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
