Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor

The Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor leads the facility in promoting an EHS culture through the effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety-related policies, procedures, training, inspections, and risk controls. This role supports accident and illness prevention, emergency readiness, regulatory compliance, and clear communication with employees, supervisors, contractors, visitors, plant leadership, and corporate teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Complete routine risk assessments and safety inspections with a cross-functional team across production areas, warehouse, maintenance areas, utilities, contractor work zones, emergency equipment locations, and other high-risk areas; document opportunities for improvement and follow-up.
- Conduct and manage monthly, recurring, department-specific, equipment-specific, orientation, toolbox talk, and awareness training for employees and contractors.
- Lead monthly EHS meetings to communicate new initiatives, provide training, and discuss EHS-related issues.
- Develop and coordinate the safety committee and oversee employee safety initiatives.
- Complete required actions to ensure the site meets corporate, regulatory, insurance, external auditing, reporting, and certification requirements, including coordinating insurance visits and tracking recommendations to closure.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation drills, emergency response considerations, and verification that fire protection systems, emergency equipment, exits, alarms, extinguishers, and related controls remain available, inspected, and functional.
- May supervise others to ensure required recurring safety duties are completed.
- Manage EHS key performance indicators and related reporting.
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, action plans, incident and near-miss reports, corrective action tracking, fire protection records, contractor safety records, and insurance-related records in an organized and traceable manner.
- Monitor high-risk activities and controls, including PPE compliance, forklift and pedestrian safety, chemical handling and storage, safety signage, machine and equipment safety, tool safety, contractor safety, foam roll storage, butane-related processes, static control, and flammable material precautions.
- Coordinate with supervisors, maintenance, operations, contractors, plant leadership, and corporate safety teams to integrate safety requirements into daily activities and support company initiatives, strategic goals, and team collaboration efforts.

Required Skills/
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in occupational safety, industrial safety, health and safety, risk prevention, or a related EHS role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of applicable occupational safety practices and regulatory expectations for industrial operations in the United States; OSHA 30 certification required.
- Forklift certification and working knowledge of forklift safety, including pedestrian interaction, traffic routes, loading and unloading practices, operator behavior, equipment condition, and workplace controls.
- Practical knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, corrective action follow-up, PPE management, chemical safety, safety signage, machine and equipment safety, tool safety, contractor safety, fire protection systems, warehouse safety, flammable material controls, butane safety, and static control.
- Experience supporting inspections, incident and near-miss investigations, contractor activities, emergency preparedness, safety training, and organized recordkeeping.
- Strong interpersonal, team-building, communication, observation, inspection, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to confidently facilitate training sessions, lead group discussions, deliver clear presentations, and communicate practical safety expectations to employees, supervisors, contractors, visitors, management, and corporate teams.
