Our client, a leader in the Aerospace manufacturing industry, is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician to join their team. As a Metallurgical Lab Technician, you will be part of the Quality Assurance Department supporting metallurgical testing and material verification processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Metallurgical Lab Technician

Location: Monroe, North Carolina

Pay Range: $30-35/hr plus OT, benefits

What's the Job?
  • Conduct metallurgical and material verification tests according to defined specifications and procedures while managing routine instrument care
  • Perform precise sample preparation, calibration, and elemental analysis of materials using atomic spectroscopy and gas combustion methodologies
  • Prepare, section, mount, polish, and etch specimens for microstructural evaluation
  • Evaluate microstructure, hardness, density, tensile, fatigue, and other required material properties using established test methods
  • Record, organize, and maintain traceable test data, ensuring accuracy and digital completeness within MES and QMS systems
What's Needed?
  • AA/AS degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a University Degree in a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience preparing metallurgical specimens (sectioning, mounting, polishing, etching) or operating related laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of metallurgical or material testing, laboratory operations, or quality inspection in a metals environment
  • Ability to operate precision instruments and measurement tools with strong manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods during testing activities
